Pharma companies require serial numbers to be printed on the backside of each labels. These serial numbers are printed using Variable Data Printers such as CIJ or TIJ printers. The printing process is not very easy & comes with various challenges. A small mistake may lead to incorrect quantities being dispatched to the Pharma customer. This could result in complaints from the Pharma customer.
Moreover, many companies print these serial numbers in single up configuration on winder rewinder machines, after slitting. This is done to minimise the chances of making mistakes in the numbering process. If numbering is done on multiple ups at a time on a slitting machine, the chances of making mistakes are very high.
To tackle this problem, we have come up with a camera solution that inspects each & every number printed on the backside of each labels & ensures that the correct number is printed on the correct label. It also checks the readability of the number with close to ZERO false reads. This camera system comes with just 1 high resolution camera that covers a width of up to 320mm & scans 8 ups at a tinme. This means, you can do the numbering process on 8 ups, on the slitting machine, along with the slitting process, without any mistakes. This greatly increases the production as one entire process is reduced. The label rolls can be dispatched immediately after the slitting process.
